Hyundai Bayon Launch in India: Price, Features, Specs and Booking (2026)

The Hyundai Bayon launches in India on 26 October 2026, and bookings are already open at Lakshmi Hyundai for a token amount of Rs 11,000.

The Bayon is Hyundai's second compact SUV in India. It sits between the Venue and the Creta, giving buyers a stylish, tech-loaded crossover at an expected price of Rs 10 to 17.5 lakh (ex-showroom). Hyundai calls it an "Intelligent Utility Vehicle", with the tagline "Intelligence that moves". Hyundai has also confirmed deliveries will begin this festive season, so you could bring one home before Diwali.

At Lakshmi Hyundai, we have sold and serviced Hyundai cars across Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh since 2012. In this guide, we walk you through everything confirmed so far about the Bayon, and how it fits into the Hyundai SUV range.

Hyundai Bayon at a glance

The Hyundai Bayon is a compact SUV priced between the Venue and Creta, launching on 26 October 2026 with a 1.5-litre petrol engine, Level 2 ADAS and a Generative AI voice assistant.

Bookings are open for Rs 11,000, and the expected price is Rs 10 to 17.5 lakh (ex-showroom). The Bayon runs on a 1.5-litre petrol engine making 115 PS, paired with a 6-speed manual or a CVT automatic. Key features include dual 12.3-inch screens, an AI voice assistant, Bose audio, ventilated seats and a sunroof, while safety covers six airbags, Level 2 ADAS and a 360-degree camera.

Hyundai Bayon design: what does it look like?

The Bayon breaks away from the boxy look of most compact SUVs with sharp lines, crisp creases and a crossover stance. It looks modern without trying to copy anyone else.

• Front: slim LED daytime running lights sit up high, with LED projector headlamps mounted lower down and silver inserts on the bumper.

• Side: black body cladding, roof rails and 17-inch alloy wheels on 215/55 R17 tyres give it a rugged, planted look.

• Rear: inverted L-shaped LED tail lamps, a roof-mounted spoiler and a chunky bumper. Hyundai has skipped the connected-light-bar trend, which helps the Bayon stand out.

• Roof: the cars shown so far wear a contrast black roof.

Based on the European-spec model, the Bayon is about 4,245 mm long. That makes it roughly 230 mm longer than the Venue and 85 mm shorter than the Creta, while being slightly wider than the Creta. India-spec dimensions are yet to be confirmed.

Hyundai Bayon engine, gearbox and mileage

The Bayon uses Hyundai's proven 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, the same unit trusted by lakhs of Creta owners. It produces about 115 PS.

You can choose between a 6-speed manual and a CVT automatic gearbox. The Bayon also gets drive modes, which Hyundai will name at launch.

This engine is known for smooth, relaxed city driving and easy maintenance. The CVT automatic is a strong choice for stop-and-go traffic in Bengaluru, Chennai and Hyderabad.

At launch, there is no turbo-petrol, diesel or CNG option. Official Hyundai Bayon mileage figures will be announced at launch.

Hyundai Bayon features: interior, AI assistant and boot space

Hyundai's tagline for the Bayon is "Intelligence That Moves", and the cabin lives up to it. The dashboard is borrowed from the global-spec i20, finished in a black and light-grey theme with perforated front seats.

Screens and controls. Two 12.3-inch displays serve as the instrument cluster and touchscreen. Hyundai kept physical buttons and rotary knobs for volume, tuning and climate, which are much easier to use on the move than touch-only panels.

India's first Hyundai with a Generative AI assistant. It can plan road trips, suggest hotels and restaurants along your route, and share weather and sports updates. It works in English. More than 500 offline voice commands also work without internet, in English, Hindi, Hinglish, Tamil, Telugu and Bengali.

Comfort features (as shown so far):

• Ventilated front seats
• Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, plus a wireless phone charger
• Bose premium sound system
• Sunroof
• Automatic climate control
• Electronic parking brake with auto hold

Connected car tech. Hyundai Bluelink brings more than 70 connected features, including remote engine start/stop and vehicle location. Over-the-air (OTA) updates cover up to 19 vehicle controllers, so improvements can arrive without a service visit.

Space. The European-spec Bayon offers a generous 440-litre boot, ideal for family luggage and weekend trips. India-spec boot capacity is yet to be confirmed.

Is the Hyundai Bayon safe? Safety features and ADAS

The Bayon is expected to carry one of the strongest safety kits in its price band, led by Level 2 ADAS.

• Six airbags
• Level 2 ADAS, using one front radar and two rear radars
• 360-degree camera with blind-spot monitor
• 12 parking sensors: 4 front, 4 rear and 4 on the corners
• Electronic stability control (ESC)
• Tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS)
• SOS button on the rear-view mirror
The exact list per variant will be confirmed at launch. A crash-test rating has not been announced yet.

Hyundai Bayon vs Venue vs Creta: which Hyundai SUV is right for you?

The Bayon fills the gap between the Venue and the Creta, giving Hyundai buyers a stylish, tech-rich SUV at a sweet-spot price.

The Hyundai Venue costs Rs 7.99 to 15.82 lakh and measures under 4 metres. It offers a 1.2 petrol, 1.0 turbo-petrol and 1.5 diesel engine, making it ideal for first-time SUV buyers and city driving.

The Hyundai Bayon is expected at Rs 10 to 17.5 lakh and measures about 4.25 metres. It comes with a 1.5 petrol engine and suits buyers who want bold style and smart tech at a mid-range price.

The Hyundai Creta costs Rs 11.10 to 20.49 lakh and measures about 4.33 metres. It offers a 1.5 petrol, 1.5 turbo-petrol and 1.5 diesel engine, making it the pick for families who want more space and engine choice.

Venue and Creta prices are ex-showroom prices listed on lakshmihyundai.co.in as of 14 October 2026. The Bayon's price is expected and will be confirmed at launch.

Why the Bayon stands out in its segment:

• A bold, sharp design that looks unlike other compact SUVs
• Hyundai India's first Generative AI voice assistant, plus over-the-air updates
• Level 2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera and 12 parking sensors
• A large 440-litre boot (European-spec)
• Hyundai's proven 1.5-litre petrol engine and a wide service network
Good to know: the Bayon comes with only a 1.5-litre petrol engine at launch. If you want a turbo-petrol or diesel, the Venue and Creta offer both. Our team can help you compare all three on a test drive.

Who should buy the Hyundai Bayon?

The Bayon suits buyers who want a premium, tech-rich SUV without stepping up to Creta money.

• Young professionals who want a car that looks different and comes loaded with smart tech.
• City families who need a big boot, strong safety and an easy automatic for daily traffic.
• Venue owners ready to upgrade to a bigger, better-equipped Hyundai.
• Road-trippers who will enjoy the AI assistant planning routes, stops and stays.
